HI, I am Gitanjali Karki. I’ve been working on YouTube as a content creator for over 4 years now. My contents revolve around makeup, skincare & lifestyle. Growing up, I was always in love with the idea of getting ready. I simply loved playing with makeup. Since then, my love for makeup has only increased. The passion grew deeper and I turned it into my career. 

Initially, I didn’t give much thought to my health; both mental and physical. The year 2015 was a turning point in my life. I was in this relationship for 5 years. Then suddenly it was no more in existence. Those traumatizing, sleepless nights resulted in stress eating and I gained a lot of weight. Simply put, my mental health was messed up.

The thought of fitness never entered my mind. Back in those days, Mental health was not much spoken about. The more I gained weight, the more I went down in the hole of my insecurities. My viewers started commenting on how big my face looked. Those comments further dragged me down. That phase really hit my mental health hard. I was always feeling so weak. In one of those hard moments, I remembered reading somewhere, “KEY TO HAPPINESS IS WITHIN AND IF YOU DONT LIKE WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW THEN MOVE YOU ARE NOT A TREE”

Finally, after struggling so long with my own thoughts, I decided to join the gym. The picture down below is me right before stepping into the gym.

Initially, exercising was tough but not as tough as staying consistent.

I struggled waking up early, moving my ass to the gym, working out for hours, and maintaining a sustainable diet.

The first 4 months were hard. I didn’t see any change in my health. But gradually, I started feeling better. I started noticing a change in my mental health. The stress eating slowly started disappearing. I was sleeping well and feeling more energetic. This amazing feeling of being energized was what kept me going. I followed all the amazing fitness instructors on YouTube and Instagram.  I read many articles and talked with amazing fitness coaches who share amazing stuff on eating patterns, and food relations.

That was the point I realized that nothing is going to work if that is unsustainable. Stop crash dieting and adopt a sustainable diet. Fitness used to be a choice for me now, it’s part of my routine. Here is my physical transformation of 2019-2021.
